Police Investigate Attempted Robbery of Checkers in Wilmington

Police are investigating the attempted robbery of the Checkers Restaurant Monday at 4301 North Market Street in Wilmington.

Police say around 5:00 a.m., a male suspect entered the restaurant and showed a handgun to the clerk, who then ran into a bathroom.

The suspect then fled.

Police say the suspect is between 25- and 30-years-old, 5'9", weighing about 180 pounds and wearing a sky-blue t-shirt with a white paisley design and a black scarf.
