Utility pole replacement in Seaford is underway and could cause road delays over the next few months.

WMDT TV reports that AUI began setting up new telephone poles for Verizon along Stein Highway from the bridge to Neal School Road on Thursday. Once the new poles are in position, the City of Seaford Utilities and Delmarva Power, followed by Comcast and DelDOT will transfer services, and then start removing the old items.

Traffic will be impacted because of the work; one westbound lane of Stein Highway will be closed, along with sidewalks.

The project is expected to run through the end of October or the first part of November; crews will be working Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
