A Georgetown woman has been charged in the fatal crash that killed a young boy on Whitesville Road in November. Danielle M. Bobak was driving her 2007 Subaru and entered into a moderate curve when she mistakenly drifted off the south side of the roadway. In an attempt to bring the vehicle back on the roadway she then over corrected causing the car to spin into the opposite side of the roadway. The car struck a tree spinning the vehicle then rolled onto the passenger's side before coming to a stop.

The passenger, Lleyton Slate was seated in the rear in a car seat and was then ejected from the vehicle on impact. Police found that the car seat was not properly secured in the vehicle. He was removed by EMS and initially transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center before being flown to John Hopkins where he was pronounced dead. Bobak was indicted this afternoon with Vehicular Homicide 1st, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Child Restraint under 8 year old, and Driving a Vehicle at an Unreasonable Speed. She was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $20,502.00 secured bond.
