Fixed Wing Plane Crashes After Landing at Jenkins Airport

8:14 a.m.: Delaware State Police are currently on the scene of a single engine Piper plane that crashed after landing at Jenkins Airport west of Wyoming.

The incident happened just after 7 this morning as a 62-year-old male pilot from New Jersey was making a planned landing at the airport located on Westville Road. The 1980 Piper fixed wing plane, landed on the grassy runway and then continued across Westville Road coming to a stop on the south side of the road in an empty yard.

The FAA is working to determine the cause of the crash.

The pilot and a 43-year-old male passenger from New Jersey were NOT injured.
