UPDATE: Police probe Dagsboro-area crash involving stolen vehicle

Delaware State Police are investigating a crash in the Dagsboro area involving two vehicles, one of which was stolen.

Four people were hurt in the hit-and-run crash which occurred Tuesday morning at Route 113 and Swamp Road.

The driver of a Malibu that struck a Honda Accord drove eastbound on Swamp Road for about two miles before leaving the vehicle in the roadway.

82-year-old Gladys Handy of Ocean City and three women in the Accord were taken to Beebe Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.

A car matching the description of Chevrolet Malibu was reported stolen by a 36-year-old Dagsboro woman from her home on Gum Tree Road between 1:00 a.m .and 9:45 a.m. Tuesday.

The suspect in the vehicle theft is described as a black male, 30-35 years old, about six feet tall, 180 pounds, and he was wearing a white shirt and tan pants at the time.
