Dover Police say shortly after 2 p.m. Friday, officers saw Ashley Everett driving while using a cell phone on Route 13 and Jefferic Boulevard.
As officers made contact with Everett and her passenger, Keyatak Flowers, they could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Both were ordered out of the car and Flowers fled on foot. Officers caught up with him and had to tase him after he resisted arrest, and hit one of the officers, causing minor injuries.
Police say when Flowers ran, he tried to hide a bag under a nearby vehicle; officers found the bag which contained 5.2 grams of crack cocaine, 13 bags of heroin, 2.8 grams of MDMA, and various drug paraphernalia. Officers also discovered a 3.5 inch spring assisted pocket knife inside the vehicle.
Flowers was committed to the James T. Vaughan Correctional Center in lieu of $24,250 bail and Everett was committed to Baylor Women’s Correctional Center in lieu of $13,125 bail.
