DEC Friday issued a Beat the Peak Alert
It's early fall, but Delaware Electric Co-operative is issuing a Beat the Peak Alert for today due to higher-than-normal temperatures.

The co-op is asking its members to conserve electricity between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Possible steps include postponing the use of appliances that use a lot of energy such as washers, dryers and dishwashers.

If you still have the air conditioning on, consider raising the thermostat by a few degrees.

Delaware Electric Co-operative says although the hottest temperatures are over, a "peak" is still reached each month especially in the so-called "shoulder seasons."
