AUDIO: Wilm. Launches Training Program to Help Small Business Owners

A new business exchange program in Wilmington is aimed at helping small and minority owned businesses.

The Prime Connections program, through the city's economic development office graduated it's first class of participants.

Denita Thomas, manager of the small and minority enterprise business office in Wilmington says 13 owners of local construction companies participated the advanced training program.

Participants in the nine month program received mentoring from Del Tech, the Delaware Department of Transportation and large construction firms.

The model is designed to help small businesses add employees, and gain new business opportunities.
