Police: man turns pit bull loose on another dog

A Parsonburg, Maryland man is charged with animal cruelty and assault for allegedly taking the muzzle off of a pit bull to allow the animal to attack another dog.
The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says the incident occurred early Saturday morning.
A woman who lives with 45-year-old Jeffrey Mayhle reported that she was assaulted during the incident, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Police also say the dog that was attack needed veterinary treatment for serious injuries.
Mayhle was being held at the detention center on $20,000 bond.
