By Mark Fowser

A 66-year-old Salisbury man is dead and his wife is in the hospital in critical condition following a fire that roared through their duplex-style home on Patrick Avenue early Friday morning.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office is still investigating the cause of the blaze that claimed the life of William Holdbrook Junior.

Firefighters pulled him and his wife, Mary Holdbrook, unconscious from the home after getting word that they were trapped inside.

She remains in intensive care at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
