AUDIO: Del. House approves same-day voter registration
By Frank Gerace

A bill that would make Delaware the 13th state to allow voters to register on Election Day has passed the state House.

House Bill 105, sponsored by Majority Whip John Viola, would enable Delawareans to register to vote in Presidential or state primaries or special elections on Election Day if they can show proper ID.

That includes a valid government-issued photo ID card, current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck or other government document with the would-be voter's name and address.

House Minority Leader Dan Short says 39 states, including Delaware, have gotten along well so far without Election Day registration.
