A 26-year-old Dewey Beach man has been arrested on burglary charges after he allegedly stayed at beach house without the owner's consent.

Police say Thomas Timlin was allowed to stay at the Pennsylvania resident's beach home on McKinley Street in February, but over several weekends the owner noticed the home being used and drinks and food were missing.

Last week, a family member saw a "selfie" taken by Timlin at the home, and when it was referred to Dewey Beach Police, officers discovered he had active capiases with multiple courts in Sussex County.

Last Saturday, police conducted a property check of the home and found Timlin sleeping on the couch after the owner reported a burglary. He was taken into custody without incident.

Timlin is charged with two counts of second degree burglary and four counts of theft under $1,500. He's at the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $8,000 bond. Charges are pending for last Saturday's burglary.
