Wilmington Firefighters save a woman after she jumps into the Christina River.
The save was made shortly after 5 p.m. on Monday,May 14, 2019, in the area of Rosa Parks Drive.
Nearby rowers alerted and assisted firefighters, and the woman was found just under the surface of the water by two members of Engine 1.
When pulled into the boat, she was unconscious and not breathing, and the rest of the Engine 1 crew immediately began CPR and transferred her to the dock.
She regained her pulse, and she was taken to Christiana Hospital.
About 23 fire and EMS personnel responded to the fire. The following units responded: Engine 1, Skyboom 2, PA-2, PA-100, Medic 8, ALS Supervisor, Wilmington Police, and DNREC Police.
