A 79-year-old Millsboro man is listed in critical condition following an accident Thursday in Millsboro.

Millsboro- The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating a serious crash that occurred earlier today.
The incident occurred on August 15, 2019 at approximately 12:44 p.m., when a 2019 Subaru Ascent was traveling southbound on Indian Mission Road (SR 5) just north of John J. Williams Highway ( SR 24). A 2000 Ford Explorer was traveling northbound on SR 5 approaching the Subaru. A 2011 Audi Q5 was traveling northbound behind the Explorer. For unknown reasons, the operator of the Subaru allowed his vehicle to cross the center line and enter the northbound travel lane in front of the Explorer. The operator of the Explorer attempted to swerve his vehicle to the right to avoid the impact but was unsuccessful. As a result, the Subaru struck the Explorer. The front of the Audi then struck the rear of the Explorer within the northbound travel lane.
The operator of the Subaru, a 66-year-old male of Millsboro, DE was properly restrained. He was transported to the Beebe Medical Center where he was treated and released with minor non-life threatening injuries.
The operator of the Explorer, a 79-year-old male of Rehoboth Beach was not properly restrained and was transported to the Christiana Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
The operator of the Audi, a 58-year-old female of Millsboro, DE was properly restrained and declined medical treatment at the scene.
SR 5 was closed for approximately 3 hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
